Not wealth management. Proper financial planning.
Old pensions you've forgotten about. The savings account that hasn't moved in years. No real idea if you can afford to retire — or what you'd actually have to live on if you did. The vague worry about what happens to the family if something goes wrong, or whether the kids will ever get on the ladder. The feeling you've been told to come back when you've got more money — by people who didn't really want to talk to you in the first place.

What we do
Find out what you've forgotten about
Old pensions, dormant savings, accounts you set up years ago. We track it all down and put it to work.
Tell you straight where you stand
Whether you can retire, when, and on what. Real numbers, real modelling, no back-of-an-envelope guessing
Sort the people around you too
Protection if life goes wrong, plans for the kids, and what happens to it all when you're done with it.
Who it's for
Most of the people we sit down with fall into one of these three camps.
Business owners
Sole traders and directors who want their pension pulling its weight — and doing it tax-efficiently. This works best when we're handling your accounting too, because decisions get made on live numbers — key for the best results.
Approaching Retirement
Pension statements you don't really understand, projections that mean nothing, no real idea if you can actually afford to stop. We translate it — what you'll have, when, and what's got to change if it's not enough.
Sorting your family
You want to know there's cover if something happens, the kids will have something behind them when they need it, and what you've built ends up exactly where you want it. The bits of planning that aren't really about you.
Here's what happens next
Already a Halewood client? Skip step 1 and most of step 2. We already know where you are — you just need to tell us where you want to go next.
Quick chat
A ten-minute call. You tell us what's on your mind — old pensions, retirement, investing, whatever it is — and we tell you whether we can help. No fact-find, no forms, no commitment.
Tell us everything
A proper sit-down, in the office or at your kitchen table. Pensions, savings, income, goals, family, the lot. This is where we work out what you've actually got and what you want it to do.
We do the thinking
We go away and look under the bonnet. Chase down old pensions, check what the charges are doing, model what retirement actually looks like on the numbers you've got. If the accountant or estate planner needs to weigh in, they're already here.
Here's the plan
We come back with what we'd do and why. In writing, in words you'd actually use. Nothing moves until you've read it and said yes.
Let's get on with it
Paperwork, transfers, setup, the actual doing. Then we review it every year — because life changes, and the plan needs to change with it.
Common questions
Clear answers to the questions people often ask before getting started.
-
No. There's no minimum, no portfolio threshold, no being told to come back when you've got more. If you've got questions about pensions, savings or retirement, that's reason enough to pick up the phone. Most people who book a first call don't know whether they need advice yet — that's literally what the call is for.
-
The first call is free. After that, new pensions start from £750 to set up. If we end up managing money for you, the fee is tiered — 4% on the first £50k, 3% from £50k to £150k, and 2% above that. You'll get the full quote in writing before anything starts.
-
Wealth management is mostly about investing a pot of money and trying to grow it. Financial planning is the whole picture — pensions, tax, retirement income, protection, what happens to your estate. We do the whole picture. If all you want is a lump sum invested, you'd probably be better off somewhere else.
-
Yes. That's one of the most common reasons people sit down with us. We go through what you've got, what you're likely to have, what you want to live on, and whether the numbers add up. If they don't, we tell you what needs to change.
-
We'll help you track them down and work out whether they're worth keeping where they are or moving somewhere better. Plenty of old pensions are quietly losing money to charges nobody's looked at for years — worth a look.
