Boring. Necessary. Usually ignored.
The idea of sorting your will is probably a bit dull, and you're probably thinking you'll get round to it in January when you also join the gym. You won't find us outside Morrisons but we will provide biscuits (unless it's January)
Takes about an hour, or two cups of tea.
What we do
Wills
Single wills, mirror wills for couples. The basic sort-it job, done properly and in words you'd actually use.
Powers of Attorney
Health & welfare, property & finances. The thing your future self will be glad you sorted while everything was fine.
Trusts
Property protection trusts, life interest trusts, planning around inheritance. For when a basic will doesn't quite cover it.
Who's it for
If any of these sound like you, now's the time.
Parents
Kids, a house, life cover you set up years ago and haven't looked at since. A will, guardianship, money landing where it should — sorted in one go.
Business owners
Shares, company assets, trusts sitting around the business — a will that actually accounts for what you've built. We've got the people to sort it.
Later in life
LPAs, property protection trusts, tidying things up before anyone has to tidy them up for you. The honest conversations most people put off about a decade too long.
Here's what happens next
Already a Halewood client? Skip step 1 and most of step 2. We already know where you are — you just need to tell us where you want to go next.
Quick chat
A ten-minute call. You tell us what you want to sort — a will, an LPA, both, something more involved — and we tell you if we can help. No forms!
Tell us everything
A proper sit-down, in the office or at your kitchen table. Family, property, business, anything we need to know. It's not a test and there's no wrong answer.
We do the thinking
We draft everything up and check it through. If something's more complicated than it first looked, we'll flag it and explain the options in words that make sense.
Here's the plan
We come back with the draft documents and talk you through what each one does and why. Nothing gets signed until you're happy.
Let's get on with it
You sign, we witness. Job done. If life changes — new baby, new house, new partner — come back and we'll update it.
Common questions
Clear answers to the questions people often ask before getting started.
-
Single wills from £175. Mirror wills for couples. LPAs from £395. Property protection trusts from £300. No hidden fees, no upsell, full quote before anything starts. First call's free.
-
Our will writers are qualified, members of the Society of Will Writers, and the documents they produce are every bit as legally valid as a solicitor's — usually faster and cheaper too.
-
The state decides what happens to your stuff, using something called intestacy rules. Unmarried partners get nothing automatically. Kids from a previous relationship can be cut out without anyone meaning to cut them out. Stepchildren usually get nothing. It's a mess, and it's a completely avoidable one.
-
Probably, yes. An LPA lets someone you trust make decisions for you if you can't make them yourself — there are two types, one for your health and welfare, one for your property and finances. Most people don't bother until something happens, and by then it's too late to set one up. Worth doing now, while it's a boring job and not an urgent one.
-
You can. Plenty of people do. The risk is that something gets worded wrong, witnessed wrong, or doesn't account for something obvious — and you don't find out until the will is being read out and it's far too late to fix. For £175, you get one done properly.
Sooner it's done, sooner you stop thinking about it
A cup of tea, a ten-minute call, and we'll tell you what you actually need. That's it.
