Why I built this.
Wednesday night, 8pm. Sat in a pub in Ilkeston, missing the Liverpool game (probably lost anyway), filling out a solicitor's questionnaire and trying to explain what "tenants in common" actually means. Drove home thinking — never again. Not the pub. The forms, obviously.
My clients would get letters, emails and forms from their solicitors and estate agents and have no idea what any of it meant. And why would they? Most people don't find money particularly interesting. Unfortunately for me, I do — which meant every question came to me. I loved most of it. Even the Sunday evenings.
After years of working through different industries — accountancy through to wills — and writing three thousand names and addresses on documents, I built Halewood.
The mission: make it compulsory to meet your advisers in the pub. Without the forms.
